Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated 3 June 2026

Sable helps you decide what to keep. These rules keep that decision yours, and keep the service safe.

1. Decide only for your own belongings

  • Do not use Sable to decide the disposal of other people's belongings — a partner, family member, flatmate, or tenant — without their explicit consent.
  • Do not use Sable to make solo decisions about a minor's belongings except as the child's parent or legal guardian.
  • Do not use Sable to coerce, pressure, or override another person's wishes about their property.

2. Don't misuse the service

  • No unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or infringing use.
  • No attempts to break, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service.
  • Do not act on Sable's suggestions to dispose of items unlawfully (e.g. regulated, hazardous, or stolen goods).
  • No uploading content that is illegal or that you have no right to share.

3. Digitising responsibly

  • Only digitise (scan, copy, photograph) works you have the right to copy. Digitising copyrighted books or media may be restricted by law in your country.
  • Items you digitise — letters, photos, documents — may contain other people's personal information. You are responsible for handling it lawfully.

4. Sable's limits

Sable is not treatment for hoarding disorder, not a certified organizing service, not an appraisal, and not financial, legal, or medical advice. If letting go is tied to compulsion, grief, or trauma, please seek a qualified professional. You remain responsible for your own decisions.

5. Enforcement

We may suspend or close accounts that breach this policy. Where conduct is unlawful, we may report it to the appropriate authorities. This policy is read alongside our Terms of Service.
